I used this Bible especially with elementary school children (and this translation, but not this Bible with teenagers), catecism classes. I found the best of the Bible in the age grade. E 'announced as a translation to be read aloud, and I agree it works well when you listen. That occupies the attention of students of first and second classes. They are able to listen and act with little explanation of stories. As students get older, the vocabulary is easily accessible to them and can proceed. As citizens of confidence as readers can read with understanding. And the illustrations are exceptional. No crowd of blondes, and yet not tough on ethnic representation. I agree with the critic who said the images are not Sappy, and with the critic who said the images are attractive to young people. I and catechists are very satisfied with this Bible.
I was trying to have a Bible at home, especially as a reference point for us to respond to difficult questions raised by our children. But I also wanted something that could be encouraged to raise themselves.
This Bible is attractively illustrated and well divided into manageable pieces that are not too intimidating. The English translation is in bearings, so the language is accessible to children and does not require translation for us.
General (if desired, to judge by the cover) is a book that invites the reader not to warn them off. I finished reading the loaves and fishes for children at dinner, and then my wife brought to bed while I watched Lost on TV. I think that makes it an instant hit.
